Our client, a well-established and reputable organization in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a skilled Process Optimization Lead to join their dynamic team. The company specializes in precision machining and offers a collaborative work environment focused on innovation and quality.

Position Overview: The Process Optimization Lead will be responsible for developing and refining estimating and pricing strategies, optimizing manufacturing processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization. This role requires a proactive leadership and experience in CNC machining, strong analytical skills, and a passion for efficiency improvements.
Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop accurate and competitive pricing strategies for CNC machining projects based on material costs, machining times, and operational overheads.
    • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to gather precise information for cost estimations.
    • Continuously refine pricing models to reflect market trends, production costs, and customer requirements.
    • Identify inefficiencies in current CNC machining and production processes and implement solutions to streamline operations.
    • Develop, document, and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for CNC machine operation and workflow.
    • Utilize data-driven methodologies to optimize CNC setup times, machine cycle times, and overall production efficiency.
    • Monitor and analyze discrepancies between estimated and actual machining times for jobs, making adjustments to estimations as necessary.
    • Maintain and update historical data on machining projects to ensure accurate and timely estimates for future jobs.
    • Implement tools and processes for real-time tracking of machine run times and job completion rates.
    • Track and analyze production lead times, identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the CNC machining process.
    • Implement initiatives to reduce lead times without compromising quality or cost.
    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track production performance and efficiency.
    • Lead a team of CNC operators and engineers in process optimization projects, ensuring alignment with business goals.
    • Provide training and mentorship to team members on best practices for machine operation, process improvement, and time management.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability.
    • Drive the implementation of the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to promote safety, organization, and efficiency.
    • Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and increase machine uptime.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and workflow enhancements.
